Body of man found in unexplained circumstances in Dublin

A man in his 60s was found dead on Wednesday afternoon.

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in north Dublin on Wednesday (24 November).

On Wednesday afternoon, Gardaí attended a domestic residence in Balbriggan, where the body of a man aged in his 60s was found.

A statement from An Garda Síochána notes that the body was discovered in unexplained circumstances.

At the time of writing on Wednesday evening, the scene at the residence in Balbriggan has been preserved so that a technical examination may be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out in due course.

RTÉ News reports that it is believed that the man died “violently”.

Investigations are ongoing.
