The body of a fisherman has been recovered from the sea

The search began yesterday afternoon.

The search for a fisherman off the Irish coast has concluded after his body was found in the water. RTÉ first reported that a fishing trawler had sunk off the coast of Skerries, Dublin yesterday afternoon.

A member of the public raised the alarm.

One man was rescued from the water, close to the harbour, but the search continued in the early hours of the morning for the second fisherman.

A spokesperson for the Irish Coast Guard has now confirmed, to The Journalthat the second man’s body has been recovered from the water.

He is believed to be in his 20s.
