Gardaí have since called off their search for the missing woman.
The search for a missing 30-year-old woman has been stood down following the discovery of a body of a woman in the water at Carlingford Lough this afternoon (Monday, 18 March).
The body is believed to be that of missing woman Ruth Maguire.
Gardaí wish to thank the public for their help in this instance, the help of the volunteers and the Coast Guard, and state no further assistance is required.
Ruth Maguire, from Newcastle in County Down, had travelled to Carlingford on Saturday for a hen party.
She had not been seen since around 11.30pm on Saturday 16 March.
