Gardaí believe the death to be a personal tragedy.

A body has been found in the search for missing Donegal woman, Ann O’Donoghue.

The 68-year-old woman was reported missing from the Annagry area of Donegal on Wednesday of this week. She had been last seen on July 14.

Gardaí stood down the search for Ann today following the discovery of a body. Gardaí believe the death to be a personal tragedy incident.

Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy Show earlier this week, Ann’s daughter Alice Flanagan said her mother’s disappearance was very out of character and had “bamboozled” her family.

“It makes no sense to us,” said Alice. “We think that it’s just everything, that the walls started to come in around her and she just felt the need to break out.

“Hopefully she’s booked in somewhere for a couple of days and she’ll come home.”
