A body, understood to be that of missing NUI Galway student Mark Casey, has been found in the River Shannon.
According to RTE News, the tragic discovery was made in the Canal Bank area of Limerick by members of Limerick Marine Search and Rescue following a two-day search effort. Originally from Tullamore, 19-year-old Casey was reported missing on Friday 7 March after being separated from a group of friends at Angel Lane nightclub.
A search is also continuing for 21-year-old LIT student union Vice President Steven Kavanagh, who was last seen after he left a party on the outskirts of Limerick City in the early hours of last Thursday. He is said to be 5′ 10″ in height, with brown hair and of slight build, and was wearing blue jeans and a Limerick FC jacket at the time of his disappearance.
