A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in an apartment in Cork.
The woman, who was 39 years of age and originally from Kerry, has been named as Nicola Collins. She comes from Tralee but was living in Togher, Cork.
According to RTÉ, she was found in an apartment in the area of Farranree, after the Gardaí were alerted in the early hours of Monday morning.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the death and is being held at Mayfield Garda Station. The apartment that she was found in was rented by this man and it’s believed that Nicola knew him and had visited him frequently at the address.
