Breaking: 15-year-old attacked with a ‘slash hook’ in Ennis

He is currently recovering in hospital.

A 15-year-old boy was attacked at a garage station in Ennis today.

According to the Independent, the school student was attacked by three masked men in a garage forecourt just after 5pm on the Kilrush road.

It has been reported that the teenager was with his mother in her car when they stopped for petrol.

As the teenager began to fill the car, three men surrounded the boy and started to attack him.

The back window of the car was smashed in the altercation, as well as the windshield.

The boy was reportedly hit once with what is believed to have been a “slash hook.”

He is currently recovering in University Hospital Limerick, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The mother was unharmed in the incident, but left shaken.

Gardaí have asked anyone who was in the area of Ashline/Kilrush Road around the time of the incident to contact them at Ennis station on 065 6848100.
