There has been a fatal shooting in Cork this evening.
An investigation is underway into the incident on the southside of Cork City, according to the Irish Examiner.
Reports say a man in his 40s was killed in the Ballyphehane area of the city this afternoon, with law enforcement alerted at approximately 4.30pm.
A forensic examination is underway at the scene.
Early reports suggest the shooting may have been accidental.
