Armed robbers raided the Ritz hotel in Paris and stole jewellery believed to be worth “millions of Euros.”
Authorities have said that the thieves smashed the windows of the hotel, took the jewels, and attempted to flee the scene.
Three suspects were detained and two more are still on the run.
Sky News reports that a witness also heard “gunfire” at the scene.
Some of the thieves were thought to have been armed with axes.

It is not uncommon for world-famous jewellers to display their jewels in the Ritz hotel in Paris.
The jewels stolen are thought to be worth up to €4.7 million.
