After a lengthy debate today, Enda Kenny has been elected as the Taoiseach.
According to The Irish Times, The Fine Gael parliamentary party met this morning and ratified the programme for government agreed with Independents.
Kenny received 59 votes in support.
Kenny stated that the votes of the people have indicated that no party had the mandate to force anyone in Ireland to do something they don’t want to do.
Kenny pledged “to devise and implement solutions to the problems facing our people”.
