A 43-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 29 people in the Omagh bombing sixteen years ago.
According to RTE News, Seamus Daly from Cullaville in Co Monaghan was tonight charged with the crime after being arrested on Monday by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Serious Crime Branch. Daly had previously been found liable for the August 1998 Real IRA incident in a landmark civil case.
The Co. Tyrone bombing was one of the most horrific incidents of The Troubles, with 29 victims, included a woman pregnant with twins, killed when the car bomb detonated on a busy Saturday afternoon.
No-one has yet been convicted of the bombing in a criminal court and Mr Daly will appear in court in Dungannon tomorrow.
