Archie is going to be a big brother!

It has only been a couple of months since the Duchess of Sussex wrote a heartbreaking essay about suffering a miscarriage earlier in 2020.

The 39-year-old, who is already mum to Archie, who will turn two in May, wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times that she had suffered a miscarriage in July 2020.

“Unbearable grief [is] experienced by many but talked about by a few,” she wrote in November 2020. “We have learned that when people ask how any of us are doing, and when they really listen to the answer, with an open heart and mind, the load of grief often becomes lighter — for all of us. In being invited to share our pain, together we take the first steps toward healing.”

However, today, on Valentine’s Day, a spokesperson for the royal couple shared the happy news that Meghan and Harry and expecting baby #2.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” a spokesperson for the couple confirmed on Valentine’s Day as they shared a sweet black-and-white photo of Harry sitting on the grass in a garden while Meghan lay with her head in his lap and had her hand on her baby bump. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The new baby will join the family in spring/summer.

Having moved to Canada temporarily when they first stepped away from royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now bought a family home in Montecito, California, Meghan’s home state.
