
VIDEO: Emergency Services Rush To Scene As Car Bursts Into Flames On Parnell St.
UPDATE: Phibsboro Unit of Dublin Fire brigade wrote on JOE.ie Facebook page:
"One of our crews have dealth (sic) with that fire, the small explosions from the fire are caused by the magnesium components of the car reacting with the water as the crew extinguished the fire. No injuries and road re-opened."
A car has burst into flames on a busy Dublin street this afternoon.
There have been reports of an explosion as a vehicle burst into flames on Parnell St. this afternoon.
It is understood that the vehicle involved is a taxi, according to the Irish Independent.
Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
It is understood that no one was injured and that the fire has now been extinguished, with minor traffic restrictions still in place.
Footage shows flames and smoke close to Jervis St and the Cineworld Cinema.
