BREAKING: Two dead and multiple injured in shooting in Strasbourg

It has been confirmed that two people have died.

Two people are dead and multiple others have been wounded following a shooting in the French city of Strasbourg, reports are confirming.

According to CNN, a spokesperson said that at least two people have been killed following the attack in a Christmas market, and that 11 people are injured after gunshots were fired in the centre of the northeastern French city.

RTÉ is reporting that the suspect, who fled the scene has been identified and is currently being chased down by police.

According to Reuters, one local shopkeeper said: "There were gun shots and people running everywhere. It lasted about 10 minutes."

French police have also said that they are investigating a possible terrorism motive for the shooting.
