It has been reported that the White House is on lockdown after a man shot himself on the North Lawn today.
CBS News is reporting that White House staff ran to safety as the secret service arrived on the scene in Washington DC shortly after the incident.

Donald Trump was not in his residence when it happened, as he is at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida playing golf.
But it is said that he has been made aware of the situation.
The man has not yet been identified, and it is not yet known how seriously he was injured.
The US Secret Service posted on Twitter: “Secret Service personnel are responding to reports of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gun shot wound along the north fence line of (the) White House.”
No one else was injured, it has been confirmed.
