Child dies after being struck by car in Co. Down

The PSNI are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

A child has been killed after being hit by a car in Co. Down, Northern Ireland.

Breaking News reports the incident took place yesterday evening on Rowreagh Road in Kircubbin shortly before 8:20pm yesterday evening.

A statement from PSNI Sergeant Irwin read: “The child was taken to hospital, but sadly died as a result of his injuries.”

The Rowreagh Road closed after the collision, but it has since been reopened.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing, and the PSNI are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed it to come forward.

The PSNI are also urging any motorists who may have dashcam footage to bring it to the police.
