Train commuters are being warned to expect delays to and from Heuston station.

Passengers could see delays up to 45 minutes on the rail line due to vandalism caused to the cable lines.

Irish Rail has confirmed that their services will be impacted following vandalism to cables on the line.

The damage was caused between the Sallins and Newbridge stops and will impact those travelling to and from Heuston.

Services between Newbridge and Grand Canal Dock are also expected to be affected by the damage.

Irish Rail tweeted;

“Delays of 30-45 mins expected to services to/from Heuston this morning due to signal cable vandalism between Sallins and Newbridge.”

They tweeted afterward to say;

“Signalling restored between Newbridge and Sallins for trains travelling to Heuston following cable vandalism – delays remain but will start to ease.

Fault remains for outbound services, working to rectify.”

Make sure to check www.irishrail.ie for updated service information if you’re expected to be affected by the delays.
