You couldn't make this stuff up.

Of all the things to complain about…

Met Éireann have been hit with a raft of complaints over the past 18 months from angry members of the public, with 149 letters of complaint received since January 2016.

The complaints were retrieved under the Freedom Of Information Act by The Irish Daily Mail and show that some people like to vent their anger at the weather in curious ways.

Among these complaints was one which raged over the visible outline of the some of the presenters underwear during their weather forecasts.

The viewer wrote: “This is not freedom of expression or feminism, this is just a lack of human standards.”

Among other complaints received were from angry citizens who claimed to have been caught out by weather which was contrary to what Met Éireann had promised in their bulletins.

One such complaint outlined how they had went for a hike up Carrauntoohil in what turned out to be poor conditions.

“I would not have taken a group up yesterday,” the member of the public wrote, “If I knew the conditions would be that bad.”

But the overwhelming thread of anger seemed to stem from a perceived lack of accuracy in weather forecasts for areas outside of Dublin. Met Éireann were accused of not taking care with forecasts outside of the capital.

If you’re curious about what Met Éireann has to say about the weather this week, then you should look no further than here.
