Cristiano Ronaldo is being sued by a woman for allegedly raping her in a Las Vegas hotel.

Kathryn Mayorga said that the Portuguese footballer sexually assaulted her during a party in his hotel room suite in 2009.

Mayorga said that after the alleged attack she was paid $375,000 to stay quiet.

According to German news source Der Spiegel, Ronaldo apologised during the lawsuit saying that “he was sorry, he was usually a gentleman.” The lawsuit also claims that Ronaldo told his representative that Mayorga has said “stop” and “no, no, no” during the act.

The footballer, who currently plays for Italian club Juventus, denied the claim last night on Instagram, calling the story “fake news.”

He said:

“What they said today: fake, fake news. They want to be famous, to say my name. It’s part of the job. I’m (a) happy man and all good.”

Mayorga is suing Ronaldo to void her settlement.
