A spokesperson for Croke Park residents has confirmed that they are "seriously looking at" taking a legal injunction against the planned five Garth Brooks dates this summer.
A series of meetings have been held between residents and stadium officials over the past number of months, with locals arguing that the five sold-out dates, in addition to three performances from One Direction, will expose them to an unacceptable level of noise pollution. According to The Irish Examiner, members have now voted to tell their local representatives not to attend any more meetings with stadium officials and are examining their legal options.
"We'll be calling on Dublin City Council to convene a public meeting so people can make oral submissions…on this matter," said local resident and solicitor Anthony Fay.
"There is the option, which people are seriously looking at, of seeking a judicial review or taking an injunction. This wouldn't happen in the Aviva and it certainly won't be tolerated here."
