Cyclist killed following road traffic collision in Dublin

Very sad news.

A man in his 80s has been killed following a road traffic collision in Dublin on Monday (27 December).

The collision occurred between a car and a cyclist shortly before 1pm on the Killeen Road in Ballyfermot.

The cyclist, a man in his 80s, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Dublin City Morgue where a post-mortem will now take place in due course. The driver of the car was unharmed.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision. Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Killeen Road at this time, to make this footage available to them.
