Despite His Best Efforts, Bill Cosby Will Face Sexual Assault Trial

He had maintained that all his encounters were consensual.

Since his arrest last December for sexual offences, Bill Cosby has denied all wrongdoing in the case filed by alleged victim Andrea Constand.

She accused him of aggravated indecent assault 12 years ago, with the case only being brought to court last year after the state of Pennsylvania failed to initiate a prosecution.

The state’s District Attorney at the time found there was a scarcity of evidence when the accusations were originally made, but revelations about the former household name meant the case was reopened.

CNN report that despite the efforts of his defence team to scrap the case, Cosby will still face trial over the incident which took place early in 2004.

Cosby allegedly drugged and assaulted Constand in his home, after inviting her there to ‘discuss her professional future’ according to testimony.

Cosby could face up to ten years in prison if convicted.
