Dog the Bounty Hunter joins hunt for missing Brian Laundrie
The TV Bounty Hunter has joined the search for Gabby Petito's fiancé.
'Dog the Bounty Hunter', real name Duane Chapman, has apparently joined the hunt for 23-year-old Brian Laundrie, who is still missing having vanished after the disappearance and death of his 22-year-old fiancé, Gabby Petito.
Speaking to the Mail Online, Chapman was asked whether he was confident he could locate the primary suspect - the FBI have recently put out an arrest warrant on Laundrie - he declared "Yes - I will find him".
The bounty hunter, whose eponymous show ran for eight series between 2004 and 2008, even turned up at the Laundrie's family home in North Port, Florida. Hoping to speak with Brian's parents, Christopher and Roberta, he was filmed knocking on the door, however, the family has been removed as the home was declared an active crime scene.
Chapman, 68, went on to say: "I'm chasing several leads. We've got a lot of leads. I can't tell you more but we are getting leads every ten minutes".
In the interview with Fox 13 above, he told reporters: "Because I lost a daughter around the same age, I know what the parents feel like and you want justification, you want the guy behind bars".
Back in 2006, Chapman's daughter Barbara Katy Chapman tragically died in a car accident the day before her father's wedding. Dog later went on to lose his wife, Beth, to throat cancer in 2019.
Chapman went on to claim that he believes Laundrie is a skilled "outdoorsman" and could survive on his own after his friends spoke of previous trips he made for weeks at a time. He believes that the best way to track him down is to identify the point in which he went is believed to have gone into the Appalachian mountains.
Whilst he hasn't confirmed he is seeking payment, he won't be the only one chasing a finders fee, as yesterday a lawyer and mother of two put out a bounty of $20k for anyone who could deliver Laundrie to the police.
Petito's remains were discovered last week. Her funeral took place over the weekend.
