The cause of Dolores O’Riordan’s death will not be known until at least April, it’s being reported.

The results of the post mortem on the singer’s body had been due this morning at Westminster Coroner’s Court.

The BBC has reported that coroner Shirley Radcliffe has adjourned the inquest into her death until April pending the results of “various tests”.

Dolores was found unresponsive in her room in the Hilton hotel on Park Lane in London on Monday morning and died that day. She had been due to record music.

The Limerick woman, 46, was lead singer of The Cranberries and for many, one of the defining musical voices of the nineties.

Police investigating her death this week said that they were not treating it as suspicious.

Dolores’ partner Ole Koretsky of rock band D.A.R.K. paid tribute to her, as did her Cranberries bandmates.

“We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores.

“She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started The Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.

Her funeral had been expected to take place early next week in her native Limerick. It is not known whether her burial will be affected by this new development.
