The Trump campaign has made some shocking comments about rape

She completely missed the point.

Donald Trump has gone through so many campaign managers that it’s difficult to keep count, on the 17th of August Kellyanne Conway became the latest person to manage Trump’s campaign.

Trump has been known to make offensive comments about Mexican people, black people, disabled people and women among many other groups, so the role of his campaign manager is presumably to do some serious damage control and make him appear more appealing  to those he has offended.

After offensive comments made by Kellyanne Conway recently emerged, she won’t be fixing any damage Trump has caused.

Democratic Coalition against Trump Conway found a video of Conway talking on a chat show in 2013, in which she made some shocking statements about sexual assault.

Speaking on current affairs show To The Contrary Conway says:

“But I’ll tell you, if physical fitness – if we were physiologically – not mentally, emotionally, professionally equal to men – if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist. You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.”

Her comments are inaccurate on so many levels. Implying that the only reason rape happens is because women aren’t strong enough to stop it, is victim blaming. It is similar to the argument that women get raped because of the clothes they wear or the alcohol they drink. Rape is never ever the fault of the victim.

Trump, unfortunately shares the views of his campaign manager, he recently came under fire for tweeting about sexual assault in the military.

They make a very dangerous pair.
