A car bomb has exploded today in the Berlin neighbourhood of Charlottenburg, at around 10.30 this morning.
The driver of the car was killed by the explosion.
According to German newspaper Bild, the explosion flipped the car up into the air, and local residents were instructed to remain in their apartments.
A murder investigation is currently underway.
The report alleges the explosion was in relation to organised crime in the area, rather than a terrorist incident.
German police stated: "Forensic investigators are here, will carefully examine the car, everything will be examined. The homicide division is on site and will take over the further investigation."
