Dublin Bus launches investigation after woman says she was “slut shamed” by driver

Dublin Bus and Luas services to be suspended for longer than expected

The woman was left feeling distressed.

A woman has claimed that she was “slut-shamed” on a Dublin Bus and refused entry because of her outfit.

The bus company is launching an investigation into the claims that one of their bus drivers initially wouldn’t allow the woman on the bus because of what she was wearing.

The incident happened on Saturday morning, the woman was getting on the bus when she was allegedly stopped by the driver who told her that her clothes were inappropriate.

Heading into Dublin’s city centre, the woman said that all she was wearing was full length joggers and a crop top.

She then revealed that the driver asked her to cover up before she got on the bus.

While she was eventually allowed to get on the bus, but the whole ordeal left her feeling distressed.

A spokesperson for Dublin Bus told Dublin Live that the company is looking into the incident and is working with the woman to resolve it.

They said: “Dublin Bus has received this complaint and is in correspondence with the complainant on the matter which is being investigated.

“All complaints and incidents reported to Dublin Bus are taken very seriously and investigated thoroughly as per the Dublin Bus Customer Charter and internal procedures.”
