"Congratulations to baby Laoise who was in a big hurry this morning.
"Firefighter/paramedics Barry and Mark from Rathfarnham fire station assisted Mammy with the delivery at home."
The team confirmed that both mum and baby are doing well.
Newsreader Emma Tyrrell confirmed she was the mum the firefighters assisted.
She also praised Alice from the Domino Midwives who guided her through the birth on the phone.
She praised them for helping her after she realised she wouldn't make it to the National Maternity Hospital.

She tweeted, "I hadn’t actually planned a home birth but the lads arrived with literal seconds to spare this morning - less than 15 minutes after we realized we weren’t going to make it to The NMH."
Emma also said, "A huge thanks to Mark and Barry from our shell-shocked little family."
The public has praised both Mark and Barry for their heroic efforts.
One shared, "Wonderful, I’d say it’s days like that that really make their jobs worthwhile. Welcome baby."
Another added, "Well done to all involved."
