Both 999 or 112 work throughout Ireland and will put you through to the first responders for all emergency situations. Other numbers to remember at this time of year include your nearest hospital and the number of An Garda Síochána's confidential line which is 1800 666 111. Dublin Fire Brigade also wants to remind people to go out and buy extra batteries and under no circumstance take batteries out of smoke alarms.Happy Christmas! We hope not see you over the festive season, but we are here 24/7 if you have an emergency. Remember 999 or 112 is the only way to contact us in case of an emergency. pic.twitter.com/4YkaqPFMzn

Remember to take precautions and make sure all candles and electrical appliances are off before leaving the house to ensure a fantastic and happy Christmas.Batteries! Did you get batteries?? Don't forget to pick up batteries for Christmas morning, and while you're at it, pick up a spare battery for your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Don't be tempted to "borrow" the smoke alarm battery on Christmas morning. pic.twitter.com/NVpgo2m9xC
