Dublin man dies after being struck by car on Saturday night

Emergency services rushed to the scene in west Dublin.

A man has died after a road collision in west Dublin on Saturday night.

The incident occurred on the R120 (Peamount Road) in Newcastle at around 11pm.

The man, who was in his 40s, was out walking at the time and was seriously injured in the collision.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene.

He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital by ambulance where he later passed away.

No other injuries were reported during the collision.

The road remained closed on Sunday morning as gardai conducted an examination of the scene, with diversions in place.

Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage to come forward.
