She welcomed her Storm Barra baby at home.

The crazy weather brought by Storm Barra made a trip to the hospital impossible for one Dublin woman, who went into labour on Tuesday night.

Emergency workers from Tallaght Fire Station were called out to the house to help, where they found the expectant mother in labour.

The workers assisted her with the delivery and she safely give birth to a little girl. She has since named her Pria.

The new mum and her daughter are said to be doing well.

Taking to Twitter, Dublin Fire Brigade wrote:

“As #StormBarra impacted Dublin last night, firefighter/paramedics from Tallaght fire station were called to a baby in a big hurry. They assisted Mum with the delivery of a healthy baby girl. Mum and baby Pria are doing well #DFBaby.”

People were delighted to hear the good news and commended the work of the emergency services in the comments.

“Congrats to mom and Pria, thanks to everyone involved helping the little one into the world,” on person said.

“Awww Congratulations Momma, she’s a beauty and well done to all,” another wrote.

“Big Congratulations to Mum & baby Pria. A Christmas wonder of a beautiful life – well done @DubFireBrigade,“a third added.

Storm Barra wreaked havoc across the country this week, causing schools to close and leaving thousands of homes and businesses without power.

Wind and rain warnings remained in place on Wednesday but by 5pm, the worst of the storm had thankfully passed.

A massive national clean-up operation is now underway.
