Dunnes Stores recalls luxury apple pie over allergy fears

The apple pie has been labelled wrong.

Dunnes Stores has urgently had to recall one of their products after it posed a threat to certain customers with food allergies.

Recalling their own brand Luxury Apple Pie, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland say that the pies were accidentally mispacked with a similar product.

Having similar packaging as the Pear and Almond Pie, this one contains nuts which is an allergy that is not shown or mentioned on the Apple Pie label.

The batch that is being recalled has the use-by date of October 4th 2021 and are "unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds", according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
