When Alaskan man Matthew Beedle tried to get some footage of bald eagles near his family home, he probably hadn't counted on one of the birds taking off with his GoPro.
But it did.
Beedle had placed the camera on the stump of a log with some salmon nearby to try and entice the eagles down to the ground. One swooped in for a closer look, giving Beedle his optimum bird shot.
It was only when another eagle appeared and snatched the GoPro straight off the log that some truly epic footage was taken.

The event itself actually happened in 2015, but Beedle posted the video on YouTube this week as a nomination for the GoPro awards.
The eagle steals the camera, flies off, and gets some great shots of the Arizonan greenery - tainted only slightly by the constant presence of its talons.
The bird eventually lands and abandons the GoPro, but not before staring directly into the camera.
Thankfully, Beedle and his father managed to track down the GoPro the next day.
