A discussion about fat-shaming on Good Morning Britain turned on host Eamonn Holmes today when one of the guests told him he was a "heart attack waiting to happen."

Weight loss expert Steve Miller and plus-size model Gemma Cruikshank were on the show to debate whether fat-shaming could help people to lose weight. Co-host Kate Garraway asked Steve what he thought of Eamonn. "Eamonn comes in and says he's got a bit of a sore throat, whatever, and he's having tummy ache or whatever your moan might be," she said. Eamonn then chimed in, suggesting Steve would tell him to lose a few stone. "I would say that but I would also say to Eamonn that he is too fat and he is a heart attack waiting to happen," said Steve. "He's about to clonk me for that." "I'm not because you know I agree with you," Eamonn replied. He did cut Steve off later in the conversation when the expert tried to make a joke. "We cannot have a society, you know, where we all sit 'round and sing, 'If you're happy and you're fat, clap your hands'," said Steve. "Steve, I'm going to be honest with you - shut up!" replied Eamonn. For her part, Gemma Cruikshank argued that shaming people isn't helpful in fighting obesity.

"It's psychological and I think until we get our minds right the rest doesn't follow," she said.

"Support is very important, inspiration, feeling like you can reach out, feeling like the support network is there."
