A healthcare worker who recently returned from Sierra Leone has been diagnosed with the Ebola virus.

The woman is currently being treated at Gartnavel hospital in Glasgow and according to various reports, she will soon be transferred to a specialist high isolation unit in London.

Speaking at a news conference in Glasgow, First minister Nicola Sturgeon stressed that the risk to the general public was very low.

It is thought that the woman had contact with only one person since arriving in the city on Sunday night at about 11:30.
