Eight more people have died and 295 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Ireland

An update on #Covid-19 in Ireland.

A press briefing at the Department of Health this evening said that there have been eight further deaths of Covid-19.

This brings the death toll to 54 in the Republic of Ireland.

A further 295 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland this evening and there is now a total of 2,910 cases.

Dublin still has the highest number of cases followed by Cork with 47 the median age for confirmed cases. As of Saturday, there are 84 people in intensive care due to Covid-19.

The latest figures from Northern Ireland were released this morning (March 30) and there are now 123 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours.

It’s believed that one person has died as a result of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours in Northern Ireland.

A new public partnership between the HSE and Ireland’s Private Hospitals Association was also announced today.

This means there are now 2000 more hospital beds and 194 ventilators in addition to increased high dependency unit and intensive care unit beds.
