An elderly couple have died in a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Kilkenny.
The 83-year-old man and 77-year-old woman were discovered in their home just outside Kilkenny city by family members last night.
Their bodies are thought to have been inside the Johnswell Road house for a few days.
RTE reports that the nature of death has not yet been determined, but carbon monoxide poisoning is being examined as a possible cause.
The couples’ bodies are expected to be removed to Waterford Regional Hospital later today.
Gardaí are currently at the scene.
