Two teenagers are believed to be facing jail time after posting Facebook statuses that reportedly glorified murder.

According to The Shropshire Star, Danny Parker-Stokes (19) and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, took photos at a court hearing where their friend Ryan Sheppard was being sentenced.

In July 2014, Ryan Sheppard was found guilty of murder after an “unprovoked, sustained and brutal” attack on Mark Roberts and the photos taken at the hearing were said to have “glorified” Sheppard with another Facebook post “abusing a judge”.

Sheppard, aged 17 at the time of the murder, pleaded guilty and was jailed for life with a minimum term of 12 years and three months.

In a hearing at London’s High Court on Wednesday, Parker and his 17-year-old friend were said to be in contempt of court after taking illegal photos and a video at Bristol Crown Court and subsequently uploading them to Facebook.

When interviewed both said they were unaware that taking photos in court was prohibited.

A ruling on the case is expected to take place after Easter.
