An incident in Charles de Gaulle airport has caused tempers to flare among employees of American courier company FedEx.

AFP report that fake explosive devices were discovered inside a ripped package at the airport today.

A pressure cooker filled with nuts and bolts which was in transit from Tunisia to the United States was found, and later a container of similar devices was uncovered along with what appeared to be detonators.

Staff immediately alerted the airport authorities to the ‘immediate danger’ and officials tested the device using sniffer dogs and x-ray equipment, and the devices were revealed to be for the US Embassy to be used for a training exercise.

Frederic Petit, who represents the FedEx employees in France reacted angrily to the situation deeming it ‘irresponsible’ given the heightened terrorist alert in France since November’s attacks. He maintained that none of the FedEx employees were made aware of the nature of the package.
