Family appeal for Irish man missing in the Netherlands

The family of Edward O’Reilly, an Irish man missing in the Netherlands, have appealed to the public for help in finding him.

As RTÉ reports, 39-year-old Edward, who hails from Co. Cavan, was last seen on 18 February in the centre of Almere Buiten, which is in the Dutch province of Flevoland.

It’s understood that he was our partying with friends before he went missing. His friends say that he left the bar at midnight, and it’s believed that he attempted to walk home as he was unable to get a taxi.

The Dutch authorities have already launched a missing person investigation. Photos of Mr O’Reilly have been shared online.

He is described as having a slim build and being 5ft10in. When he was last seen, he was wearing black jeans, and a black hoodie which had writing on the sleeve.

Anyone with information on Mr O’Reilly’s whereabouts are being urged to contact the Dutch police on +31 34 357 88 44.

His sister has since travelled to the Netherlands to help with the search mission.

Edward had been living in the country for a number of years.
