Family of seven found dead in Australia

A family of seven has been found dead in south-west Australia.

The family, which included four children, were found with gunshot wounds at a rural property, Press Association reported.

It has been stated that police would not comment on the possibility of a murder-suicide, however, it has been confirmed they are not looking for a suspect.

The children were found with their mother and grandmother, with media reporting that they moved to Osmington, a village of fewer than 700 people near the tourist town of Margaret River, in 2015 to ‘grow fruit’.

Western Australia Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said his team were called to the property at 5.15am, and they are not worried about a shooter being at large.

“Police are currently responding to what I can only describe as a horrific incident,” Commissioner Dawson said.

“This devastating tragedy will no doubt have a lasting impact on the families concerned, the whole community and, in particular, the local communities in our southwest.”

He added that police will be at the farm for “several days at least.”
