A man has died after falling from a stairwell during a Euro 2016 qualifier between Ireland and Scotland.
According to reports, the man fell from the stairwell near exit 33 at the end of last night’s match. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died of his injuries.
A police spokesman said: “Relatives have been informed and the Health and Safety Executive have been made aware.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal.”
Celtic Park can hold in the vicinity of 60,000 people and it was near capacity last night. Scotland won the match with a score of 1-0.
