Fermanagh town terrified after multiple stabbings

Police are looking for witnesses.

A town in Co. Fermanagh has been “rocked” and left terrified after three people were stabbed on Monday.

Two men aged 18 and another aged 20 were taken to hospital and treated for stab wounds after they were reportedly attacked on the Lettergreen Road in Donagh at around 6am on Monday.

Police and politicians are both urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Two males aged 18, and a third man aged 20, have been taken to hospital for treatment for stab wounds.

“Enquiries are at an early stage, and the Lettergreen Road remains closed at this time as we carry out our investigations.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have any information which could assist, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 224 of 06/12/21.

The Lettergreen Road has since reopened to the public.

Deborah Erskine, the local DUP MLA also urged those responsible to come forward, or anyone who may have information.

“Horrendous and very concerning incident. It’s important Police are given any information so that a thorough investigation can take place,” she said.
