The body of a fifty-year-old Irishman has reportedly been found in the sea off Pattaya, Thailand.
Police responded to a call at 8:30am when they were alerted that the body of a foreign national had been found in the sea.
The Bangkok Post newspaper reported that the man was found face down in the water wearing only shorts, but that he had his passport in his pocket which revealed that he was 50-year-old Irish citizen.
Pattaya is located about 160km from the Thai capital Bangkok and is a major tourist destination, attracting thousands of Irish people each year, according to the Irish Mirror.
Police are said to understand that the man drowned, but do not yet know under what circumstances.
