The blaze started around noon.

Gardaí and emergency services are putting out a fire at Vicar Street in Dublin 8.

The Dublin Fire Brigade began receiving reports just before 12pm saying the blaze broke out in the music venue.

Four fire brigades arrived at the scene, with help form the crews at Dolphins Barn and Donnybrook also working to put the fire out.

The area has been evacuated by Gardaí as well as Thomas Street being closed off, with diversions in place as the fire is brought under control.

Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: “Thomas Street is blocked as we deal with a fire on the roof of a building.

“Firefighters from HQ, Dolphins Barn and Donnybrook are fighting the fire.”

The fire is now said to be under control, preventing even more spreading.

The DFB continued: “The fire on Thomas Street is under control and crews are turning-over and damping down any hotspots.

“Firefighters prevented any significant spread of the fire.

“Some crews will remain on scene for a number of hours and others will be released back to stations.”
