There’ll be some red faces in the France 24 newsroom today after the channel made a major gaffe when reporting a segment on Anglo Irish Bank.
The channel was covering this week’s story that former Anglo Irish Bank executives Pat Whelan and William McAteer were found guilty of giving illegal loans to the buy shares in the troubled bank but ran into trouble when they used an illustration of Allied Irish Bank (AIB), rather than Anglo.
And it seems that they’re not the only ones, as The Guardian also appears to made the same mistake!
Wrong AIB lads 🙂 pic.twitter.com/GEeRWc8Uok
