Frosty but sunny… the weather will be a bit all over the place today

Olivia Hayes

It’s going to be frosty… but the sun will also shine down on us.

Met Éireann predict that the weather is going to be a bit all over the place today with frost and fog, as well as sunny spells.

It’s tonight we’re wary off though, as temperatures will take a steep drop.

The weather forecaster said: “Early frost and fog in some northern areas soon clearing, with sunny spells developing and just the odd coastal shower.

“This drier, brighter weather will extend to the rest of the country this morning, with some sunshine coming through more widely by afternoon. Top temperatures 7 to 10 C., in moderate northwest breezes.”

And for tonight: “Cold tonight, with mostly clear skies. But a few showers will affect northern coasts. Lowest temperatures plus 1 to -2 C., with a widespread hard frost and some icy stretches on roads. Some patches of mist and fog will form also.”

Meanwhile, tomorrow we’ll see more fog and sunny spells: “Cold, with frost and fog clearing gradually on Tuesday morning. Some sunny spells, but the sunshine turning hazy, as cloud increases from the south. Some rain will develop over south Munster later in the afternoon. Top temperatures just 4 to 6 C., generally, but up to 8 or 9 C., along southern coasts. Light variable breezes will become moderate southeasterly.”
