Further Luas Strikes Scheduled To Kick Off From Tomorrow

Strike action is to continue Thursday and Friday this week.

Transdev, operators for the Luas have announced on their website there will be further strike action taken by drivers tomorrow, the 18th and Friday the 19th of February.

Staff members who are part of the Trade Union SIPTU are striking for the second week in a row, with further action being taken next March around St. Patrick’s Day.

SIPTU Transport, Energy, Aviation and Construction Division Organiser, Owen Reidy, said: “The shop stewards and workers are very keen to resolve this dispute as soon as possible. They remain available for talks in whatever forum is appropriate.

Staff are striking to protest for fairer working conditions, and an increase in pay.

Normal service will resume at 6.30am on the 20th of February.
