An investigation is under way into the death of a man in Buncrana, Co Donegal.
The body of the man was found lying in a laneway behind a row of houses near Knockalla Drive at 7.30pm on Friday evening.
Gardaí are now looking into the “unexplained circumstances” surrounding the man’s death.
The man is said to be aged in his 50s.
The body remained at the scene overnight and the scene was preserved late into the night.
The office of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have both been notified and will arrive at the scene some time this morning.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out and its results will then determine the course of the investigation.
