Gardaí appeal for witnesses following fatal road collision in Kildare on Sunday

Road closures were put in place as forensics examined the site.

Gardaí are currently appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision, which took place in Co. Kildare at approximately 3.30am on 8 April.

The incident happened on the M9 Northbound between Junctions 2 and 3 close to Kilcullen, Co. Kildare.

A pedestrian in his early 40s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the car was not injured.

Road closures are in place to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Northbound traffic is being directed off the motorway at Junction 3 (Athy).

Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who may have travelled on the M9 between Kilcullen and Athy from 2.30am to 4.30am on 8 April.
